JLR Module Change: RFA, PCM, TCU & BCM for Used Parts

JLR module change RFA PCM TCU BCM VIN used parts by Lock50

Fitting a used RFA, PCM, TCU or BCM saves money — but the module must be VIN-coded to your car or it will not work. Here is how Lock50 precodes used JLR modules over OBD.

Why used modules need coding

A used module carries the donor car's VIN and security data. It must be reset and coded to your vehicle to function.

???? About this video

Published Apr 13, 2024 on the official Lock50 YouTube channel

This video demonstrates how to use the Lock50 software on a Land Rover vehicle to learn the correct VIN into a used Remote Function Actuator (RFA) or Body Control Module (BCM). The process, shown on a Panasonic Toughbook, involves selecting the RFA module and initiating the "Learn Vin" function. This reprograms the used module with the vehicle's correct VIN from the BCM/ECU, making it fully functional. This is crucial when replacing modules that have the wrong VIN.

Check on in. Hey, Eliana. What we're going to show next and demonstrate is when you get a used RFA on the vehicle, it has the wrong VIN number on it, right? Or when you get a used BCM on the vehicle, you have the wrong VIN number on it. We'll show you guys how our software can learn the VIN into the used module and then can be used on the vehicle coming in. Come in. So in our case, we're going to go to the RFA. And then right here, guys, you have in the third line, it says, Learn Vin. It takes the VIN from the BCM or the ECU and then it puts it on the used module. So the process is fairly short, as you can tell, successfully. And then if we're going right here, we can see we have the VIN on the unit, and then we can go back and back in and you see that the VIN is registered to that specific unit. Thank you very much. Awesome. So for questions, call or text 619-564-0605 and for ordering, go to lock50.co.uk.
