Lock50 — Frequently Asked Questions

Organised by the exact shop categories, with the same prices shown on each product page. Click any item to expand.

What is included and what is not. The only modules sold as a per-use token are SW34 and SW36 (Pay As You Use) and SW39 and SW40 (HW04-C). Every other software module is included in your package or needs a package upgrade — there is no per-job “anytime licence” for any other module.
How reward points work. You earn points only when you buy an SW34, SW36, SW39 or SW40 token (paid with money). No other purchase earns points. Spend your points to order items, to buy or part-subsidise a tool, to upgrade your package (PAYG → A → B → C → C+), on Lifetime Licence renewals, the HW01 key tool, Change ID keys, and all CCF coding activations. Activations ordered with points do not earn points.

Lock50 HW04 OBD Tool

Lock50 JLR OBD HW04 Pay as You Use Tool Kit £1,000 +VAT
Lock50 JLR OBD HW04 Pay as You Use Tool Kit

Lock50 JLR OBD HW04 — Pay As You Use Tool Kit

The full tool, unlocked one job at a time.

No subscription — you pay a licence per job.

What this version does

  • On Pay As You Use the only job you can order is a key copy, unlocked with a paid per-job token (SW36 Key duplicator RFA when locked 2017–2025 £600 — uses the HW03-C cable · SW34 HW05/HW06 PCF7953 key duplicator when KVM locked 2010–2022 £200 — uses the HW03-D cable).
  • The free alternative — fit a new RFA module and adapt it instead of copying — needs HW04-B or above, where New RFA programming (SW27 / SW28) is included at no per-job cost.

Who Pay As You Use is for

  • KVM system (the generation before RFA, roughly 2010–2021): every job is done over OBD only — KVM does not use a locked RFA, so there is nothing else to connect to.
  • RFA system: the key is still read and programmed over OBD.
  • Where the RFA is locked and UWB is enabled: you also make a quick connection to the RFA to authorise the immobiliser first — still no soldering and no removing parts.

What each key costs on this version

How key prices drop as you move up — all versions

The bigger your package, the cheaper each key — on C and C+ all key jobs are included with no tokens.

Pay-as-you-go job prices

Tokens are only deducted on a successful job, and every token you buy counts towards a later upgrade.

Full function list — every version compared

✓ included · token available per job on PAYG · — not on this version.

SW30 — adding OEM UWB/PEPS keys on a locked EVA2 system (locked RFA, 2021–2025+) works on Versions A, B, C and C+. On a locked EVA2 system keys are added over OBD when either the TCU is in Service Mode, or 2 keys are already programmed to the car (the software sees them, then adds the next key over OBD).

Single-function licences (add any one, any time)

On PAYG upgrade to Version A or above first to unlock these options.

What's in the box

Keys included: Bare kit = the HW04 device + all 5 cables/adapters. Keys and job tokens are bought pay-as-you-go — you pay only when a job succeeds. Or take the £1,500 Start-Up Bundle and start earning on day one.

All 5 cables & adapters ship with every kit — but Pay As You Use only ever uses two cables: HW03-C (SW36 key copy) and HW03-D (SW34 key copy). No other cable is used on PAYG.

Software modules included with this kit

Pay As You Use runs two token modules only — SW34 (key copy) and SW36 (key programming). The tool stays LOCKED; when you order a token on the website we open SW34 or SW36 on demand for that one job, and it closes again once the job is done. Every other module comes free when you upgrade.

1 module included with this kit.

Start-Up Deal Bundles — everything for one job, £1,500

  • RFA system: the key is still read and programmed over OBD; where the RFA is locked and UWB is enabled you also make a quick connection to the RFA to authorise the immobiliser first — still no soldering and no removing parts.
  • On Version A that locked-RFA / locked-KVM route is unlocked with a per-job token (SW36 Key duplicator RFA when locked 2017–2025 £500 · SW34 HW05/HW06 PCF7953 key duplicator when KVM locked 2010–2022 £150) or by moving up to HW04-B.

From Version A to C+ — how you climb, step by step

Every SW36 key token you buy on Version A is credited 100% (£ for £) towards your next tier — so you can work your way up job by job instead of paying the upgrade in one go. Step by step:

Start on HW04-A (£2,500)

  • You get the full HW04 hardware and all 5 cables — the same unit as every higher version.
  • The standard key jobs are built in: read keys, add / remove keys on an unlocked RFA or BCM, precoding, diagnostics, alarm-off and CCF UWB on/off. First 12 months of updates are free.
  • When the RFA or KVM is locked, Version A cannot add keys over OBD — you can optionally buy a token for that job (SW36 new/spare key £500 · SW34 key copy £150), or move up to HW04-B.
  • Every token you buy counts towards a later upgrade — you earn points from day one.

Lock50 HW01 Key Tool

Lock50 HW01 JLR Transponder Key Copy & Unlocking & Change ID Emulator Programming Tool £750 +VAT
Lock50 HW01 JLR Transponder Key Copy & Unlocking & Change ID Emulator Programming Tool

Lock50 HW01 – JLR Transponder Key Copy, Unlocking & Change ID Emulator Programming Tool

The Lock50 HW01 is a standalone Jaguar and Land Rover smart-key tool for copying, cloning, unlocking and Change ID emulation on JLR keys from 2010 to 2025+. It reads and writes JLR transponder keys directly key-to-key, so you can rebuild a working key from a damaged, dead or non-responding client key without OBD, and it copies keys from KVM, RFA and BCM module dumps to start the car and turn the alarm off in a safe way.

Main functions

  • Key-to-key copy without OBD – read the client key and clone it onto a new Lock50 Change ID key. The fastest way to rebuild a working key from an old, damaged, partially working or dead key that no longer responds.
  • Unlock JLR keys for reuse – unlock 2010 to 2025+ JLR keys so they can be reused, without opening the key.
  • KVM / RFA dump to key copy (2010 to 2025+) – copy keys from the module file and use them to start the car and disable the alarm safely.
  • BCM dump to key copy (2017 to 2025+) – copy keys from the module file to start the car and disable the alarm safely.
  • Add keys to the KVM / RFA MCU dump – add keys directly to the dump and save time when keys will not learn any other way.
  • Standalone or with HW04 – the HW01 works on its own, or alongside the Lock50 HW04 OBD tool, which has the HW01 functions built in.

Included software – SW01 to SW15 (free with Lock50 HW01 & HW04)

  • SW01 – Read JLR key PCF7953 - part number, frequency, key position and locked status
  • SW02 – Read JLR key NCF29A - part number, frequency, key position, PEPS/UWB and locked status
  • SW03 – Jaguar Land Rover KVM - add dealer key to dump FK72 / HPLA / DPLA / AH32 / BJ32 for MCU MC9S12XEP100 (2010-2020)
  • SW04 – Land Rover JPLA-19H440-DE / BE / CE / AE module for MCU SPC560B60L3 key emulation (2017-2025+)
  • SW05 – K8D2-19H440-BB / BC / AB / AC modules for MCU SPC560B60L3 key emulation (2017-2024+)
  • SW06 – Jaguar J9C3-19H440-DF / BF module for MCU SPC560B60L3 key emulation (2017-2024+)
  • SW07 – Jaguar Land Rover M9R3-19H440-BD / BE module for MCU SPC560B60L3 key emulation (2017-2025+)
  • SW08 – Jaguar Land Rover BCM ST 95128 dump for JPLA / L8B2 / M8E2 / R8E2 key emulation (2017-2025+)
  • SW09 – Module copy key via MCU dumps for KVM 9S12XEP100 on HW05 to HW10 (2010-2021)
  • SW10 – Module copy unlocked JLR PCF7953 key to key direct on HW05 to HW10 without OBD
  • SW11 – JLR 2010 to 2020 key unlocking / renewing without opening keys - PCF7953, all part numbers
  • SW12 – Module copy client JLR PCF7953 key to key direct onto OEM keys

HW03-E OBD DoIP Cable 2021 - 24+ EVA2 Vehicles

The HW03-E is the OBD-to-Ethernet DoIP cable for modern EVA2 JLR vehicles from 2021 to 24+. EVA2 cars communicate over DoIP (Diagnostics over IP) instead of plain CAN, so any job that touches a DoIP module needs this cable. It works together with the Lock50 HW04 tool.

The HW03-E carries the DoIP-based Lock50 functions for EVA2 cars:

In-vehicle route for this key: use the HW03-C tool with the M1 adapter in the car, or the HW03-CB bench adapter for 2017–2020 vehicles.

Advice for clients

  • Read the key first with SW01 to confirm the part, frequency and how many of the 10 rewrites are left.
  • Copy a key from an RFA module dump (bench, no OBD): read the RFA module MCU DFLASH and use SW04 (JPLA-19H440), SW05 (K8D2-19H440), SW07 (M9R3-19H440) or SW06 (Jaguar J9C3-19H440). RFA module only, never the KVM.
  • Copy a key from the BCM ST95128 EEPROM dump (JPLA / L8B2 / M8E2 / R8E2) with SW08.
  • A copied key gives remote and emergency start only unless UWB / passive entry is turned on over OBD in the BCM.
  • File or key-to-key copy on the bench: SW13 and SW10.
  • In the vehicle with the RFA and BCM locked: add OEM UWB / PEPS keys on EVA2 with SW30; if the car has no Service Mode, use SW36 first to get two keys, then run SW30.
  • When only the RFA is locked: duplicate this key in the car with SW35 over OBD, or SW36 using the HW03-C tool with the M1 adapter (or the HW03-CB bench adapter, 2017–2020); use SW33 to take the alarm / arm state off first if the car is armed.
  • All of these run on the HW04 tool.

We show you that Lock50 Products allow you make even spare or lost non original full working keys in the Vehicles even when in Alarm state.

The Impossible does not end thier and as then Lock50 will add OEM keys in the locked RFA and BCM.

When you read the key it will show how many rewrites left.

Lock50 HW27 JLR Land Rover OEM PEPSFOB (with UWB) walk-away NCF29AFV Fixed ID 433 MHz 2022 to 2026
  • 2022+ walk-away car (came with HW27 (433 MHz) / HW28 (315 MHz)): learn this key and everything works as from the dealer — walk up to unlock, walk away to lock, door-handle button, key button, keyless start.
  • Any other 2017–2026 RFA car: it learns the same as the other PEPSFOB (with UWB) keys HW21–HW26 — full keyless; walk-away only if the car has that function.
  1. Is the RFA locked or unlocked? That is the only thing that decides the route — this key needs no UWB-off step and no UWB software function; it learns as the car left the factory and gives door-handle keyless entry, key button, keyless start and walk-away lock / unlock. Read the car over OBD with SW20 and check the RFA page. SW02 reads the key only: it tells you about that key (part, frequency, its own lock flag), not the car.
  • No emulation work: the RFA emulation functions (SW04 / SW05 / SW07 / SW06) and BCM emulation (SW08) need a change-ID key, so they do not apply.
  • RFA vehicles only (2022 to 2026); it will never work on KVM systems (2010–2014) — for those use the HW05 (433 MHz) to HW10 (315 MHz) range of keys.

Lock50 HW28 JLR Land Rover OEM PEPSFOB (with UWB) walk-away NCF29AFV Fixed ID 315 MHz 2022 to 2026
  • 2022+ walk-away car (came with HW27 (433 MHz) / HW28 (315 MHz)): learn this key and everything works as from the dealer — walk up to unlock, walk away to lock, door-handle button, key button, keyless start.

JLR key technology — the 3 ways to open & close the doors

  • ✓Walk up to the car to unlock
  • ✓Walk away to lock
  • ✓Push-button keyless start inside the car

PS FOB Without UWB Keys

Lock50 HW15 JLR Land Rover OEM PSFOB Non-UWB NCF29A4V Fixed ID 433 MHz 2017 to 2026 £100 +VAT

  1. Is UWB already turned off? If the car was already a PSFOB (non-UWB) type, nothing to change. If UWB was enabled, turn it off in the BCM As-Built / CCF with the 1 Click option on HW04 first (any package A+ to C+).
  2. Is the RFA locked or unlocked, and is UWB enabled in the BCM? Read the car over OBD with SW20 and check the RFA page — it shows locked / unlocked and whether UWB is enabled in the BCM. SW02 reads the key only: it tells you about that key, not the car — a key with UWB read on its own can make a non-UWB car look like it has UWB and give wrong info.
  • Fixed-ID key, not a change-ID key: it can only be added to the RFA as a new key.
  • Add over OBD with HW04, or into the RFA SPC560B MCU dump on the bench with HW04 (SW13 new / SW14 used); unlock the dump first if the RFA is locked. No emergency start when added via dump.
  • No emulation work: the RFA emulation functions (SW04 / SW05 / SW07 / SW06) and BCM emulation (SW08) need a change-ID key, so they do not apply.

  • RFA locked, EVA2 2021+: with 2 working keys or service mode add this as key number 3 (same function as the originals); or unlock the RFA with SW40, then learn the key — A+ to C+. After the unlock you can also erase the old keys and program new keys into RFA and BCM with no parts swapped. If the RFA cannot be unlocked, fit a new RFA and adapt it (package B or C) — even with a locked BCM, 2017–2026.
  • RFA locked 2017–2020 (non-EVA2): replace the RFA with a new unlocked one, program it as new (SW27 / SW28, SW38 if needed; package B or C, even with a locked BCM), UWB off over OBD if the car had it, then add this key — full function. Or copy the existing key onto a HW13 / HW14 change-ID key instead (OBD / HW03-C adapter; SW36 + HW03-C when UWB is enabled).

Lock50 KEY Copy + Alarm OFF Adapters

HW03-CB 2-in-1 Test Cable + 12V Power - All-in-One KVM / RFA Cable (No Separate Adapters) - Arm Off & Copy in the Car or Test, Firmware, VIN & Program on the Bench to 2026 for Land Rover & Jaguar via Lock50 HW04 Included with your HW04 package
HW03-CB 2-in-1 Test Cable + 12V Power - All-in-One KVM / RFA Cable (No Separate Adapters) - Arm Off & Copy in the Car or Test, Firmware, VIN & Program on the Bench to 2026 for Land Rover & Jaguar via Lock50 HW04

The HW03-CB is one all-in-one 2-in-1 cable. There are no separate F1, M1 or M2 adapters — the OBD plug and both the KVM and RFA module connectors are already wired onto this one cable, along with a 12V power input. With the 12V rechargeable battery you can run the job either way: in the car to arm off (alarm off) and copy a key like the HW03-C, or on the bench when the module is out of the car to test it, update firmware, write the VIN and program it. Runs with your Lock50 HW04.

Two ways to use it

On the bench — what you can do (locked vs unlocked module)

Software (SW) that runs over the cable

Every function runs with your HW04 over the HW03-CB cable, straight onto the KVM or RFA on the bench — nothing is opened. Click a title to open its software page in a new tab.

On the bench — what a copied key can do

  • Bench functions (test / firmware / VIN / program) are for a new, virgin or unlocked unit and cover KVM / RFA up to 2026. Bench key copy covers KVM 2010 to 2024 and locked RFA 2017 to 2020.
  • Immobilising (marrying) in the car is only needed for a new KVM / RFA. The car’s own locked unit is copied on the bench without opening it — plug it back in and all keys work, no immobilising or repair.
  • A UWB keyless key can only be made fully keyless in the vehicle with the HW03-C — not on the bench.

How the bench job works

What's in the kit

  • HW03-CB 2-in-1 test cable — one cable with the OBD plug and both the KVM and RFA module connectors already wired on, plus a 12V power input. No separate adapters to fit.
  • 12V rechargeable battery — powers the module in the car or on the bench, no external supply needed.
  • Runs with the Lock50 HW04 (via the HW03-D OBD cable).

Lock50 emulator keys

Order the cable with the HW13 or HW14 or the HW05 to HW10 keys and copy keys. For a fully keyless UWB key, copy it in the vehicle with the HW03-C. The Lock50 emulator keys:

Notes

  • One all-in-one 2-in-1 cable — no separate F1, M1 or M2 adapters. The OBD plug and both the KVM and RFA connectors are already wired onto the cable, with a 12V power input.
  • Powered by the 12V rechargeable battery, use it in the car (arm off / copy a key) or on the bench (test / firmware / VIN / program).
  • Bench: KVM all keys work after copying; RFA PS-fob without UWB works in full; a UWB RFA (locked) gives remote and emergency start only (emergency start via the IAU) unless copied in the vehicle with the HW03-C.
  • Bench work (test / firmware / VIN / program) covers up to 2026 and is for a new, virgin or unlocked unit; bench key copy covers KVM 2010 to 2024 and locked RFA 2017 to 2020.

HW03-B CAN-Wires Adapter Kit - All Keys Lost PEPS Alarm OFF 2010-2020, Key Copy (KVM 2010-2024 / RFA 2017-2020) & EVA2 RFA Unlock 2021-2025 for Land Rover & Jaguar via Lock50 HW04 £100 +VAT
HW03-B CAN-Wires Adapter Kit - All Keys Lost PEPS Alarm OFF 2010-2020, Key Copy (KVM 2010-2024 / RFA 2017-2020) & EVA2 RFA Unlock 2021-2025 for Land Rover & Jaguar via Lock50 HW04

The HW03-B connects a Lock50 HW04 OBD tool straight to the CAN wires in the car so you can work an all keys lost PEPS job without removing the RFA. Plug the adapter onto the CAN wires, connect your HW04 and the tool does the rest — the RFA stays in the car. It does three jobs: CAN-wires alarm OFF (2010 to 2020), CAN-wires key copy (KVM 2010 to 2024, RFA 2017 to 2020, locked or unlocked), and RFA unlock through the door-module CAN wires on EVA2 cars (2021 to 2025).

Three jobs, one CAN-wires adapter

How the CAN-wires job works

What's in the kit

  • HW03-B CAN-wires adapter — new V2 design.
  • CAN / LIN connection cables to tap the car and door-module CAN wires.
  • Probe needles for a clean connection without cutting.
  • Runs with the Lock50 HW04 OBD tool — free and included when you order HW04-A, HW04-B or HW04-C.

CAN-wires demo videos

Notes

  • Connects to the CAN wires in the car — no need to remove the RFA, it stays in the car.
  • The RFA / KVM must be present. If the RFA is missing, plug in any used or new RFA and connect it with the HW03-C to arm off — only then is it possible.
  • Alarm OFF (2010 to 2020): all HW04 tiers, A to C+. Free and included with HW04-A / HW04-B / HW04-C.
  • Key copy — HW04-C / C+ only (other HW04 tiers need a token): KVM 2010 to 2024 and RFA 2017 to 2020, locked or unlocked.
  • RFA unlock via the door-module CAN wires is EVA2 cars only, 2021 to 2025 — the harder-access alternative to the easier HW03-C adapter.

HW03-A Solder-Free Adapter - Read SPC560B60L3 DFLASH from All Unlocked Land Rover & Jaguar RFA (KVM) IMMO Boxes 2017 to Now via HW53 £50 +VAT
HW03-A Solder-Free Adapter - Read SPC560B60L3 DFLASH from All Unlocked Land Rover & Jaguar RFA (KVM) IMMO Boxes 2017 to Now via HW53

The HW03-A is a solder-free bench adapter for reading the SPC560B60L3 MCU when the RFA is unlocked. It seats the RFA board and connects to the HW53 programmer to extract the DFLASH from all unlocked Land Rover / Jaguar KVM (RFA) IMMO boxes, 2017 to now — any model with the SPC560B60L3 MCU, with no soldering and no pin damage. That is all it does: seat the unlocked RFA, connect to the HW53, read the DFLASH. The extracted file can then be emulated onto a Lock50 key for emergency start with the alarm off, or used for remote open with HW14 keys.

Two jobs, one adapter — no soldering

What's in the kit

  • HW03-A solder-free reading adapter for the JLR KVM (RFA) IMMO box.
  • Contact/probe interface for the RFA board — no soldering to the MCU.
  • Connects to the HW53 SPC560B60L3 programmer for the actual DFLASH read.

Vehicle compatibility

  • Models & years: all Land Rover & Jaguar RFA from 2017 to now that use the SPC560B60L3 MCU.
  • Requirement: the RFA / KVM must be unlocked — the HW03-A reads the DFLASH solder-free only on an unlocked box.
  • Module: KVM (RFA) IMMO box. MCU: SPC560B60L3.

How the job works, step by step

Tools you need with the HW03-A

Emulation software for the file you read

Load the RFA module MCU DFLASH you read with the matching function to emulate the RFA and make a key from the dump — RFA module only, never the KVM. All run on the HW01 / HW04 tools. Click any function to open its page in a new tab.

Key-to-key copy (unlocked key)

You do not always need the RFA. If you already have an unlocked working key, you can do a key-to-key copy straight onto a Lock50 HW13 or HW14 change-ID key with the HW01 tool or the HW04 (A to C+) tools — read the unlocked key with SW01 and copy it across to add keys, no bench read of the RFA required.

Notes

  • The RFA must be unlocked to read solder-free with the HW03-A.
  • On a locked RFA you can replace the SPC560B60L3 with a virgin chip and use the same clip to load the virgin files — no soldering.
  • A key made from the dump gives emergency start, remote and arm/disarm (alarm off). If the RFA had UWB enabled, use HW04 over OBD to turn UWB off in 1 click — the same dump-made key then works keyless as well.
  • Reads all JLR RFA from 2017 to now that use the SPC560B60L3 MCU, as long as the box is unlocked.
  • After any bench work the RFA / KVM must be immobilised / synchronised in the car before the vehicle is used.
  • If a working key is unlocked, you can key-to-key copy it onto HW13 / HW14 with HW01 or HW04 (A to C+) — no RFA read needed.

The SPC560B60L3 MCU — we sell the blank chip

Need a virgin chip for the MCU swap on a locked RFA? We sell the HW52 SPC560B60L3 blank MCU — solder it in, then load the virgin files with the same HW03-A clip. Click the chip to open the product page.

HW03-C Full Kit Adapter - Key Duplicator + Alarm OFF - All Keys Lost PEPS, Copy Key from Locked RFA (Full Keyless even with UWB), F1+M1 RFA / M2 KVM - Alarm OFF 2010+, KVM 2010-2024, Locked RFA 2017-2026 for Land Rover & Jaguar via Lock50 HW04 £200 +VAT
HW03-C Full Kit Adapter - Key Duplicator + Alarm OFF - All Keys Lost PEPS, Copy Key from Locked RFA (Full Keyless even with UWB), F1+M1 RFA / M2 KVM - Alarm OFF 2010+, KVM 2010-2024, Locked RFA 2017-2026 for Land Rover & Jaguar via Lock50 HW04

The HW03-C is the full adapter kit. It connects direct in the car — the F1 + M1 adapter goes on the RFA and the M2 adapter goes on the KVM — so you work an all keys lost PEPS job without removing any parts. It does everything the CAN-wires adapter does (alarm off), plus the one job the CAN-wires method cannot: copy a key from a LOCKED RFA with SW36 — and the copied key works full keyless, even on UWB cars. RFA and KVM covered 2010 to 2024; the locked-RFA keyless key copy works 2017 to 2026.

The same cable copies a key from a locked RFA with SW36 even when the car is armed. The new programmed key then arms the car off, starts it, and is a fully working key. The HW13 / HW14 keys have no UWB, yet a key copied this way works full keyless — even when the BCM car config still shows UWB active, the copied key keeps all functions.

Adapters in this kit

The full kit has both adapter types on one Y-cable. The F1 and M1 adapters go on the RFA (SPC) and the M2 adapter goes on the KVM (9S12). Click any picture to open that part in a new tab.

Three jobs, one full-kit adapter

How the job works

What's in the kit

  • HW03-C full-kit adapter — the F1 + M1 (RFA) adapter and the M2 (KVM) adapter.
  • CAN-bus Y-cable to connect direct to the RFA or KVM in the car — no parts removed.
  • Runs with the Lock50 HW04 OBD tool — free and included when you order HW04-A, HW04-B or HW04-C.

Tools you need with the HW03-C

Make keys with the Lock50 emulator keys

The HW03-C writes the copy onto any Lock50 emulator key. Pick the key you need below:

KVM copies (M2 adapter, works while armed) — older PCF7953 keys, HW05 to HW10, 2010 to 2024:

Locked-RFA keyless copies (F1 + M1 adapter, SW36) — HW13 / HW14, 2017 to 2026, no UWB yet full keyless even on UWB cars:

Notes

  • Connects direct to the RFA (F1 + M1 adapter) or the KVM (M2 adapter) in the car — no parts removed.
  • The RFA / KVM must be present. If the RFA is missing, fit any used or new RFA, connect the HW03-C and arm off — only then is it possible.
  • Alarm OFF: run through either adapter (both reach the CAN bus) on all HW04 tiers, A to C+. Free and included with HW04-A / HW04-B / HW04-C.
  • Key copy — HW04-C / C+ only (other HW04 tiers need a token): KVM 2010 to 2024 and locked RFA 2017 to 2026.
  • Both the locked-RFA key copy and the KVM key copy run while the car is armed; the new key then arms the car off, starts it and is a full working key.
  • HW13 / HW14 keys have no UWB, yet a key copied this way works full keyless — even when the BCM car config still shows UWB active

Lock50 Modules

HW04-A Package Functions

SW01 - Read JLR Key PCF7953 Part Frequency Position Locked Status Info Included with your HW04 package
SW01 - Read JLR Key PCF7953 Part Frequency Position Locked Status Info

What SW01 does

  • Reads the PCF7953 transponder inside a Jaguar / Land Rover key from 2010–2020 (the KVM generation) and shows the data in one screen.
  • Part / type — which JLR key family the PCF7953 belongs to, so you pick the matching Lock50 emulator: HW05 (433 MHz), HW06 (315 MHz), HW07 (433 MHz), HW08 (315 MHz), HW09 (433 MHz) or HW10 (315 MHz).
  • Frequency — 433 MHz or 315 MHz. The copy key must be the same frequency as the car; odd Lock50 key numbers are 433 MHz, even numbers are 315 MHz.
  • Key position — the key slot the KVM learned this key into. Useful when you copy through the KVM dump with SW09 (slots 1 and 2 are the ones it copies).
  • Locked status — locked = the key has already been learned to a car; unlocked = new / renewed and free to be learned or copied.

How it works

  1. Place the client’s key on the antenna of HW04 or HW01.
  2. Open SW01 – Read key PCF7953 in the Lock50 JLR Key Tool and press Read.
  3. The tool talks to the PCF7953 over 125 kHz and shows part, frequency, position and locked status in a few seconds.
  4. Read the result against the table below and go to the SW function that matches.

What to do with the result

Hardware, cars and years

  • Runs on HW04 (any package A to C+) and on HW01. The key is read on the tool’s own antenna — bench job, no car, no OBD.
  • Keys: JLR PCF7953 (HITAG Pro) smart keys and flip keys, 433 MHz and 315 MHz markets.
  • Cars: Jaguar and Land Rover 2010–2020 with a KVM (Keyless Vehicle Module) — Range Rover L405 / L494, Evoque L538, Discovery 4 and Discovery Sport L550, Freelander 2, Jaguar XF X250 / X260, XJ X351, XE X760, F-Pace X761, F-Type X152.
  • RFA-era cars (2017–2026) use NCF29A keys — read those with SW02.

Key facts

  • Read only — SW01 never writes to the key and never changes anything in the car.
  • No OBD, no battery on the car needed. The key does not even need to be the client’s working key — any PCF7953 JLR key can be checked (used keys from stock, eBay keys, spare keys).
  • Reading first saves a wasted job: you know the frequency, the lock state and the right copy route before you touch the car.

SW02 - Read JLR Key NCF29A Part Frequency Position Locked PEPS UWB Status Info Included with your HW04 package
SW02 - Read JLR Key NCF29A Part Frequency Position Locked PEPS UWB Status Info

What SW02 does

  • Reads the NCF29A transponder (NCF29A1, NCF29A4V, NCF29AFV) inside a Jaguar / Land Rover key and shows everything you need in one screen.
  • Part / model — PSFOB (without UWB) or PEPSFOB (with UWB). This is the one fact that decides which replacement key the car takes: a PEPSFOB (with UWB) car needs a PEPSFOB (with UWB) key for full keyless; a PSFOB car takes a PSFOB key.
  • Frequency — 433 MHz or 315 MHz; odd Lock50 key numbers are 433 MHz, even numbers are 315 MHz.
  • Key position — the slot the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) or late KVM learned the key into.
  • Locked status — locked = already learned to a car; unlocked = new and ready to be programmed as new or added through the RFA dump.
  • PEPS / UWB status — whether the key carries the UWB (ultra-wideband) part used for walk-away lock and door-handle keyless entry on 2017–2026 cars.

How it works

  1. Place the key on the antenna of HW04 or HW01.
  2. Open SW02 – Read key NCF29A in the Lock50 JLR Key Tool and press Read.
  3. The tool reads the NCF29A over 125 kHz and shows part / model, frequency, position, locked status and PEPS / UWB status.
  4. Match the result to the table below.

What to do with the result

Which key to buy after the read

Hardware, cars and years

  • Runs on HW04 (any package A to C+) and on HW01. The key is read on the tool’s own antenna — bench job, no car, no OBD.
  • Keys: JLR NCF29A1 (KVM late types 2015–2020 and RFA PSFOB / PEPSFOB 2017–2026), NCF29A4V Lock50 change-ID keys, NCF29AFV walk-away keys 2022–2026.
  • Cars: every Jaguar and Land Rover with an RFA (Remote Function Actuator) 2017–2026 — Defender L663, Discovery 5 L462, Discovery Sport L550, Range Rover L405 / L460, Range Rover Sport L494 / L461, Velar L560, Evoque L551, Jaguar XE, XF, F-Pace, E-Pace, I-Pace, F-Type — plus late KVM cars with NCF29A1 keys.

Key facts

  • Read only — SW02 never writes to the key and never touches the car.
  • SW02 reads the key; SW20 reads the car (RFA locked / unlocked, UWB enabled). Read both before a 2017–2026 job and you know the exact key and route before you start.
  • Any NCF29A key can be checked — the client’s key, a used key from stock or a key you are about to sell.

SW03 - Jaguar Land Rover KVM Add Dealer Key to Dump FK72 HPLA DPLA AH32 BJ32 for MCU MC9S12XEP100 2010-2020 Included with your HW04 package
SW03 - Jaguar Land Rover KVM Add Dealer Key to Dump FK72 HPLA DPLA AH32 BJ32 for MCU MC9S12XEP100 2010-2020

What SW03 does

  • Turns a Jaguar / Land Rover KVM (Keyless Vehicle Module) from 2010–2020 into a working key even when all keys are lost. It works from the module dump, so you never need a running key to start.
  • Covers KVM part numbers AH32, BJ32, DPLA, FK72, HPLA with the MC9S12XEP100 MCU (also XET256 / XEQ384).
  • The control module is the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) / KVM — never the engine ECU.

How it works

  1. Read the KVM EEPROM and D-Flash out of the MC9S12XEP100 with your bench reader (the dump).
  2. Load the dump into the Lock50 JLR Key Tool on HW04 or HW01 and open SW03.
  3. SW03 makes a precoded dealer key (or adds an unlocked new / used key) into the dump.
  4. Write the new dump back to the KVM — the key now works for remote and keyless start.

Which route for which car

Hardware, cars and years

  • Runs on HW04 (any package A to C+) and on HW01. The key is read on the tool’s own antenna — bench job, no car, no OBD.
  • KVM part numbers: AH32, BJ32, DPLA, FK72, HPLA — MCU MC9S12XEP100 (also XET256, XEQ384). 2 plug and 3 plug KVMs.
  • Keys emulated: JLR PCF7953P (HITAG Pro), 433 MHz and 315 MHz.
  • Cars: Jaguar and Land Rover 2010–2020 with a KVM — Range Rover L405, Range Rover Sport L494, Evoque, Discovery 4 L319, Discovery 5 L462, Discovery Sport L550, Freelander 2, Velar L560, Jaguar XF X250 / X260, XJ X351, XE X760, F-Pace X761, F-Type X152.

Key facts

  • All keys lost is supported — the job runs from the KVM dump, no working key required.
  • Adding a new key to the dump = remote + keyless start only. Emergency start needs a Lock50 change-ID emulator key HW05 (433 MHz)–HW10 (315 MHz).
  • On 2015–2020 TCU cars, copying the existing ID with SW09 avoids the no-start problem that a new dump ID can cause.
  • Read the key first with SW01 (PCF7953) so you know the frequency and lock state before you start.

SW04 - Land Rover JPLA-19H440-DE BE CE AE Module for MCU SPC560B60L3 Key Emulation 2017-2025+

What SW04 does

  • Reads a new-type RFA (Remote Function Actuator) dump — part numbers JPLA-19H440-AE / -BE / -CE / -DE on the SPC560B60L3 MCU — and emulates the key ID and crypto immo data onto a Lock50 change-ID key.
  • Copy / emulate the key onto HW13 (433 MHz) or HW14 (315 MHz) (PSFOB, without UWB) to emergency start the car and use the remote to open and close.
  • You read the RFA D-Flash off the SPC560B60L3, load the D-Flash into Lock50, then copy / emulate the key ID and crypto immo data onto a Lock50 change-ID key HW13 (433 MHz) / HW14 (315 MHz). It all works from the dump — if the RFA is unlocked the SPC560B60L3 MCU is unlocked and the D-Flash reads out. The emergency start comes from the emulated HW13 (433 MHz) / HW14 (315 MHz) key.
  • The control module is the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) — never the engine ECU.

How it works

  1. Read the D-Flash out of the SPC560B60L3 in the RFA (the dump).
  2. Load the dump into the Lock50 JLR Key Tool on HW04 or HW01 and open SW04.
  3. SW04 emulates the key ID and crypto onto HW13 (433 MHz) or HW14 (315 MHz) (match the car frequency).
  4. Use the key: remote to open / close, and hold it under the steering column to emergency start.

  • Keys emulated: Lock50 change-ID PSFOB (without UWB) HW13 (433 MHz) / HW14 (315 MHz).
  • Cars: Jaguar and Land Rover 2017–2024+ with the JPLA-19H440 new-type RFA.

Key facts

  • All keys lost supported from the RFA dump — no running key needed.
  • Everything works from the dump — read the SPC560B60L3 D-Flash, load it into Lock50 and copy the key onto a Lock50 change-ID key for full keyless; if the RFA is unlocked the MCU is unlocked and reads out.
  • Emergency start comes from the emulated HW13 (433 MHz) / HW14 (315 MHz) key, not from adding an ID to the dump.
  • Read the key first with SW02 (NCF29A, shows PSFOB / PEPSFOB and UWB) so you buy and emulate the right key.

  • Cars: Jaguar 2017–2024+ with the J9C3 new-type RFA — XE X760, XF X260, F-Pace X761, E-Pace X540, I-Pace X590, F-Type X152.

SW07 - Jaguar Land Rover M9R3-19H440-BD BE Module for MCU SPC560B60L3 Key Emulation 2017-2025+ Included with your HW04 package
SW07 - Jaguar Land Rover M9R3-19H440-BD BE Module for MCU SPC560B60L3 Key Emulation 2017-2025+

What SW07 does

  • Reads a new-type RFA (Remote Function Actuator) dump — part numbers M9R3-19H440-BD / -BE on the SPC560B60L3 MCU — and emulates the key ID and crypto immo data onto a Lock50 change-ID key.

  2. Load the dump into the Lock50 JLR Key Tool on HW04 or HW01 and open SW07.
  3. SW07 emulates the key ID and crypto onto HW13 (433 MHz) or HW14 (315 MHz) (match the car frequency).
  4. Use the key: remote to open / close, and hold it under the steering column to emergency start.

Reading the RFA and full keyless

Part numbers and plugs

Hardware, cars and years

  • Runs on HW04 (any package A to C+) and on HW01. The key is read on the tool’s own antenna — bench job, no car, no OBD.
  • RFA part numbers: M9R3-19H440-BD / -BE — MCU SPC560B60L3. 1 plug PEPS UWB RFA.
  • Keys emulated: Lock50 change-ID PSFOB (without UWB) HW13 (433 MHz) / HW14 (315 MHz).
  • Cars: Land Rover and Jaguar 2017–2023+ with the M9R3 new-type RFA.

SW08 - Jaguar Land Rover Jaguar BCM ST 95128 Dump for JPLA L8B2 M8E2 R8E2 Key Emulation 2017-2025+ Included with your HW04 package
SW08 - Jaguar Land Rover Jaguar BCM ST 95128 Dump for JPLA L8B2 M8E2 R8E2 Key Emulation 2017-2025+

What SW08 does

  • Reads a BCM (Body Control Module) dump — the ST95128 serial EEPROM on the JPLA / L8B2 / M8E2 / R8E2 BCM — and emulates the key ID and crypto immo data onto a Lock50 change-ID key.
  • Copy / emulate the key onto HW13 (433 MHz) or HW14 (315 MHz) (PSFOB, without UWB) to emergency start the car and use the remote to open and close.
  • The immobiliser data lives in the BCM external EEPROM (ST95128) here — the control module is the BCM, never the engine ECU.
  • All keys lost is supported straight from the BCM dump — no running key is needed.

How it works

  1. Read the ST95128 serial EEPROM off the BCM (the dump).
  2. Load the dump into the Lock50 JLR Key Tool on HW04 or HW01 and open SW08.
  3. SW08 emulates the key ID and crypto onto HW13 (433 MHz) or HW14 (315 MHz) (match the car frequency).
  4. Use the key: remote to open / close, and hold it under the steering column to emergency start.

SW09 - Module Copy Key via MCU Dumps for KVM 9S12XEP100 on HW05 to HW10 2010 to 2021 Included with your HW04 package
SW09 - Module Copy Key via MCU Dumps for KVM 9S12XEP100 on HW05 to HW10 2010 to 2021

What SW09 does

  • Reads the KVM (Keyless Vehicle Module) dump — EEPROM + D-Flash off the MC9S12XEP100 MCU — and copies an existing key from slot 1, slot 2 or both onto a Lock50 change-ID key.
  • The copied HW05 (433 MHz)–HW10 (315 MHz) key gives RF (remote), keyless and emergency start exactly like the original.
  • No write-back to the KVM. Load the dump, press Copy, pick a slot — you have a working Lock50 key in seconds.
  • This copies keys that already live in the dump (slot 1 / 2). To add a fresh fixed-ID key at slot 3 or higher you write the dump back — that is SW03.

How it works

  1. Read the EEPROM and D-Flash out of the MC9S12XEP100 in the KVM (the dump).
  2. Load the dump into the Lock50 JLR Key Tool on HW04 or HW01 and open SW09.
  3. Pick the key slot to copy — slot 1, slot 2 or both.
  4. Press Copy onto HW05 (433 MHz)–HW10 (315 MHz) (match the car frequency). No dump write-back.
  5. Use the key: remote, keyless and hold it under the steering column to emergency start.

SW09 vs SW03

Hardware, cars and years

  • Runs on HW04 (any package A to C+) and on HW01. The key is read on the tool’s own antenna — bench job, no car, no OBD.
  • KVM MCU: MC9S12XEP100 — read the EEPROM and D-Flash on the bench.
  • Keys copied onto: Lock50 change-ID HW05 (433 MHz)–HW10 (315 MHz) (HITAG Pro, RKE / keyless).
  • Cars: Land Rover and Jaguar 2010–2021 with the 9S12XEP100 KVM.

Key facts

  • Copies the existing key ID and crypto from the KVM dump — the copied key is a full working key.
  • RF, keyless and emergency start all work on the copied HW05 (433 MHz)–HW10 (315 MHz) key.
  • No KVM write-back for a copy; use SW03 when you need to add a new fixed-ID key.

SW10 - Module Copy Unlocked JLR PCF7953 Key to Key Direct on HW05 to HW10 without OBD Included with your HW04 package
SW10 - Module Copy Unlocked JLR PCF7953 Key to Key Direct on HW05 to HW10 without OBD

What SW10 does

  • Copies an unlocked JLR key — PCF7953 or NCF29A1 — directly key-to-key onto a Lock50 change-ID key. No OBD, no bench dump.
  • The copied HW05 (433 MHz)–HW10 (315 MHz) key gives RF (remote), keyless and emergency start like the original.
  • Make a full backup of a working key in seconds — or make a working key from a client key that is failing.
  • Unlocked keys only. A locked key must be unlocked first — use SW11 to unlock / renew 2010–2020 keys, then copy.

How it works

  1. Put the client key on the HW01 / HW04 antenna and read it.
  2. Open SW10 and press Copy.
  3. Copy straight onto HW05 (433 MHz)–HW10 (315 MHz) (match the car frequency). No OBD, no dump write-back.
  4. Use the copy: remote, keyless and hold it under the steering column to emergency start.

When to use SW10

SW10 on the newer NCF29A key system

  • On the newer NCF29A / RFA key system SW10 is not an older-KVM copy. It copies key-to-key on the bench only, and only from an unlocked JLR OEM key, or a Lock50 HW13 (433 MHz) / HW14 (315 MHz) change-ID key that was first programmed with SW36.
  • Program the Lock50 change-ID key with SW36 first — SW36 is the step that programs HW13 (433 MHz) / HW14 (315 MHz). Then SW10 copies it.
  • SW10 then copies that key key-to-key, old HW13 (433 MHz) → new HW13 (433 MHz) — for example when the original is damaged. Bench only.
  • Match the car frequency with HW13 (433 MHz) or HW14 (315 MHz).

Hardware, cars and years

  • Runs on HW04 (any package A to C+) and on HW01. The key is read on the tool’s own antenna — bench job, no car, no OBD.
  • Keys read: unlocked JLR PCF7953 or NCF29A1.
  • Keys copied onto: Lock50 change-ID HW05 (433 MHz)–HW10 (315 MHz) (HITAG Pro, RKE / keyless).
  • Cars: Land Rover and Jaguar 2010–2021.

Key facts

  • Direct key-to-key copy — no OBD, no MCU dump, no write-back.
  • RF, keyless and emergency start all work on the copied HW05 (433 MHz)–HW10 (315 MHz) key.
  • Unlocked keys only; unlock a locked key first with SW11.
  • Lock50 keys are OEM quality with a 2-year warranty — carry less stock, reuse the keys many ways.

SW13 - Module Add JLR NCF29A1 Keys to RFA MCU Dump 2017-2025+ Included with your HW04 package
SW13 - Module Add JLR NCF29A1 Keys to RFA MCU Dump 2017-2025+

What SW13 does

  • Adds an unlocked JLR NCF29A1 key — PEPSFOB (with UWB) or PSFOB (without UWB) — into the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) MCU D-Flash dump read on the bench.
  • The added key gets remote and full keyless on both RFA types — no UWB-off step, no software function on the car.
  • The RFA D-Flash dump is read off the bench and loaded into Lock50 (the RFA is the SPC, and if it is unlocked the SPC560B60L3 MCU is unlocked and the D-Flash reads out); the key is then added into the dump (SW05 / SW07 are the sister read / emulate functions).
  • Used / locked keys cannot be added with SW13 — that is SW14.

How it works

  1. Read the RFA MCU (SPC560B) D-Flash dump on the bench with SW05 / SW06 / SW07 (K8D2 / J9C3 / M9R3 families).
  2. Read the new key on the HW01 / HW04 antenna — it must be unlocked (check with SW02).
  3. Open SW13, load the dump, add the key into a free key slot and save the dump.
  4. Write the dump back to the RFA and refit — the key does remote and keyless straight away.

SW13 vs SW14 vs copy keys

Hardware, cars and years

  • Runs on HW04 (any package A to C+) and on HW01. The key is read on the tool’s own antenna — bench job, no car, no OBD.
  • Module: RFA (Remote Function Actuator) — K8D2 / J9C3 / M9R3 families, MCU SPC560B, D-Flash dump.
  • Keys: unlocked NCF29A1 PEPSFOB (with UWB) and PSFOB (without UWB), OEM or Lock50 HW15 (433 MHz)–HW28 (315 MHz).
  • Cars: Land Rover and Jaguar 2017–2025.

Key facts

  • Keys added through the RFA dump get remote + full keyless — locked or unlocked RFA, no UWB-off.
  • A key added via the dump route does not carry emergency start — for emergency start copy an existing car key onto HW13 (433 MHz) / HW14 (315 MHz) change-ID keys.
  • Unlocked keys only — used / locked keys go through SW14.

SW14 - Module Add JLR NCF29A1 PEPS UWB or PSFOB NON UWB Used Locked Keys to RFA MCU Dump 2017-2025+ Included with your HW04 package
SW14 - Module Add JLR NCF29A1 PEPS UWB or PSFOB NON UWB Used Locked Keys to RFA MCU Dump 2017-2025+

What SW14 does

  • Adds a used / locked JLR NCF29A1 key into the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) MCU D-Flash dump on the bench — the key does not have to be unlocked or new.
  • Also takes new / unlocked keys — SW14 is the superset of SW13.
  • The added key gets remote and full keyless on a locked or unlocked RFA — PEPSFOB (with UWB) or PSFOB (without UWB).
  • Turns second-hand OEM keys into working spare keys for JLR 2017–2025.

How it works

  1. Read the RFA MCU (SPC560B) D-Flash dump on the bench with SW05 / SW06 / SW07.
  2. Read the used key on the HW01 / HW04 antenna (SW02 shows part, frequency and locked status).
  3. Open SW14, load the dump, add the key into a free key slot and save.
  4. Write the dump back to the RFA and refit — remote and full keyless work straight away.

SW14 vs SW13 vs copy keys

Hardware, cars and years

  • Runs on HW04 (any package A to C+) and on HW01. The key is read on the tool’s own antenna — bench job, no car, no OBD.
  • Module: RFA (Remote Function Actuator) — K8D2 / J9C3 / M9R3 families, MCU SPC560B, D-Flash dump.
  • Keys: used / locked or new NCF29A1 PEPSFOB (with UWB) and PSFOB (without UWB).
  • Cars: Land Rover and Jaguar 2017–2025.

Key facts

  • Locked keys are added as they are — no unlocking, no opening the key.
  • Remote + full keyless on locked and unlocked RFA — no UWB-off step.
  • Emergency start comes from copying an existing key onto HW13 (433 MHz) / HW14 (315 MHz) — not from the dump route.

SW15 - JLR Defender DH12 ALM ECU Module Spare or All Lost Keys via Copy to Lock50 Keys via MCU Dump 2007-2016 Included with your HW04 package
SW15 - JLR Defender DH12 ALM ECU Module Spare or All Lost Keys via Copy to Lock50 Keys via MCU Dump 2007-2016

What SW15 does

  • Reads the key IDs from the Defender DH12 ALM ECU (LR084667, MCU S9S08DZ128, 2048-byte EEPROM) dump and copies a key onto a Lock50 HW11 (433 MHz) / HW12 (315 MHz) key.
  • The copy is a full PCF7953 key with remote and keyless — works as spare key or for all keys lost.
  • ALM part numbers: DH12-15K600-AB (DH1215K600AB) and DH12-15K600-BC (DH1215K600BC).
  • Each key ID stored in the ALM can be copied / learned 2 times as a spare (also via OBD in SDD) — the module does not disable lost keys, so any stored ID can be copied.

How it works

  1. Remove the DH12 ALM and read the S9S08DZ128 EEPROM dump (2048 bytes) on the bench.
  2. Open SW15 on HW04 / HW01 and load the dump — the stored key IDs are listed.
  3. One working key: copy the other stored key ID. All keys lost: copy any stored ID.
  4. Write the copy onto a Lock50 HW11 (433 MHz) or HW12 (315 MHz) key (match the car frequency) — remote and keyless work straight away.

Which Defender system

Hardware, cars and years

  • Runs on HW04 (any package A to C+) and on HW01. The key is read on the tool’s own antenna — bench job, no car, no OBD.
  • Module: Defender DH12 ALM ECU LR084667 — Freescale S9S08DZ128, EEPROM 2048 bytes.
  • Keys: Lock50 HW11 (433 MHz) / HW12 (315 MHz) Defender 2-button change-ID keys (PCF7953); HW05 (433 MHz) / HW06 (315 MHz) also usable.
  • Cars: Land Rover Defender L316 2007–2016 (LEAR keyless system).

Key facts

  • Bench dump copy — no dealer key, no OBD needed; spare key and all-keys-lost both covered.
  • Each stored key ID can be copied 2 times; lost keys are not disabled by the ALM.
  • Older LUCAS-system fobs are not supported (LTB00893).

SW30 Lock50 HW04-A B C and C+ OBD Tool JLR 2021 to 2025+ EVA2 Models Add OEM UWB/PEPS Keys when Locked RFA & Locked BCM Supported L8B2 + R8E2 + M8E2 Included with your HW04 package
SW30 Lock50 HW04-A B C and C+ OBD Tool JLR 2021 to 2025+ EVA2 Models Add OEM UWB/PEPS Keys when Locked RFA & Locked BCM Supported L8B2 + R8E2 + M8E2

What SW30 does

  • Adds OEM or non-OEM keys into vehicles whose RFA and BCM are locked — the latest EVA2 platform.
  • BCM support: L8B2, R8E2 and M8E2. Check the BCM software version — if you see one of these BCM types, you can use this function.
  • This adds new keys into the locked RFA & BCM. It does not delete old keys — to erase lost keys you must fit a new RFA and program with SW28, then program keys again.

How the job goes

  1. Put your 2 working keys on the passenger seat — or, if the client has the InControl app, they can activate service mode and the job runs over OBD.
  2. Run Add Keys in Key Learning.
  3. Add the new key on the Lock50, then place it on the seat to finish when the Lock50 JLR software instructs you.

Proven on the bench

  • Defender 2024 Activity Key programming with Lock50 HW04 in a locked RFA & BCM vehicle.
  • C-package demo — 2023 Range Rover Sport spare OEM key, no modules changed.
  • All-keys-lost or spare keys use the same process — add OEM keys in a locked RFA + BCM, no parts, in under 10 minutes.

SW27 Lock50 HW04-A+ B C and C+ OBD Tool JLR 2017 to 2024+ New KVM / RFA Programming (UnLocked BCM Supported) Included with your HW04 package
SW27 Lock50 HW04-A+ B C and C+ OBD Tool JLR 2017 to 2024+ New KVM / RFA Programming (UnLocked BCM Supported)

What SW27 does

  • When the BCM has not been locked, you can swap in a new RFA and adapt it to the vehicle — no new or virgin BCM needed.
  • After swapping the RFA and updating the software in Lock50, go to the PEPS options and run the command “Replace RFA”.
  • The vehicle either completes (BCM not locked) or returns “2 Keys Required” / “Authentication Failed” — which tells you the BCM is locked.

Locked or unlocked BCM?

  • Most BCMs are unlocked unless the dealer has applied the latest updates, which lock them down.
  • BCM locking runs from 2017 up to 2025+ vehicles — 2021+ cars are almost always locked.

Hardware, cars and years

  • Runs on HW04 — packages A+, B, C and C+. Not included on HW04-A or PAYG: HW04-A owners add the ; PAYG owners take the ..
  • Cars: Jaguar and Land Rover 2017 to 2024+.

Which cable SW27 uses

  • HW04-A+: the only. The E cable is not used for SW27 on A+.
  • HW04-B, HW04-C and HW04-C+: either the HW03-D cable or the — for flashing and programming a new RFA with the BCM locked or unlocked.
  • IPCB cluster (where the car has one): can only be adapted with the HW03-E DoIP cable - never with the D cable.

How to get SW27

  • Built into HW04-B, HW04-C and HW04-C+ — no per-job activation, no token.
  • HW04-A does not include SW27. HW04-A owners buy the which turns the tool into HW04-A+. It cannot be ordered as a per-job token.
  • PAYG owners: (or to B or higher).

SW28 Lock50 HW04-B C and C+ OBD Tool JLR 2017 to 2024+ New RFA Replacement Programming (Locked BCM L8B2 + R8E2 + M8E2 Supported) Included with your HW04 package
SW28 Lock50 HW04-B C and C+ OBD Tool JLR 2017 to 2024+ New RFA Replacement Programming (Locked BCM L8B2 + R8E2 + M8E2 Supported)

The problem

  • When swapping a Remote Function Actuator (RFA) on newer JLR (typically 2017 to 2025+) the Body Control Module (BCM) is often locked.
  • Standard dealer tools such as TOPIx Cloud usually require you to replace both the RFA and the BCM to program new keys — costly and time-consuming.
  • 2021+ cars that have been back to the dealership for software updates cannot be programmed with other tools without first fitting a new BCM.

The SW28 bypass

How it goes

  1. Swap in the new RFA and update the software in Lock50.
  2. Go to the PEPS options and run “Replace RFA”.
  3. If the BCM is not locked the car completes (that is SW27). If it returns “2 Keys Required”, “Authentication Failed” or “Less than 2 Keys found” — the BCM is locked.
  4. Run SW28 to bypass the lock and adapt the new RFA without a new BCM. Old keys are erased in the RFA & BCM.

Your 3 options with a locked RFA + locked BCM

How to get SW28

  • Built into HW04-B, HW04-C and HW04-C+. There is no per-job activation, no token and no separate anytime licence — once you own a B, C or C+ kit, SW28 is unlocked and you can use it anytime.
  • PAYG and HW04-A owners cannot buy a token or licence for SW28. To use SW28 you must upgrade to HW04-B or higher: or .

What SW21 does

  • On SDD-era JLR (2010–2017) it writes the VIN to a module over OBD so the module adapts to and matches the settings of the car it is fitted to.
  • Source used parts from breakers and reuse them in the car by re-writing the VIN — instead of buying new.
  • You can also write the VIN to new parts you have purchased.
  • On most modules the VIN can be written again over OBD.

SW26 Lock50 HW04 OBD Tool JLR 2017 to 2024+ CCF UWB/PEPS ON or OFF 1 Click Modify (Locked BCM + Locked RFA Supported)

What SW26 does

  • Turns the UWB function OFF by patching it in the TCU telematics unit — 1 click over OBD.
  • Works with a locked BCM and a locked RFA — no module swap needed.
  • The client's keys work normally again — no more emergency start — and the SOS message no longer appears on the IPC.
  • You do not have to repair the UWB system in the vehicle.

When you use it

  • The RFA is locked and the client's keys are not fully working — they only emergency start, or only open / close the car on the key button.
  • The car has UWB errors — the system is damaged and keyless no longer works with the client's keys.
  • The TCU cables are damaged or not all plugged in, or the TCU backup battery has gone low.

SW33 Lock50 HW04 OBD Tool JLR 2017 to 2020 Alarm OFF Licence Using RFA adapter Set HW03-C Included with your HW04 package
SW33 Lock50 HW04 OBD Tool JLR 2017 to 2020 Alarm OFF Licence Using RFA adapter Set HW03-C

What SW33 does

  • No soldering and no need to find CAN wires — connect directly to the RFA with the HW03-C adapter.
  • You then see the Alarm OFF command in Special Functions, used to open the doors and boot for easier access to the vehicle.
  • 2010 to 2020 vehicles: use the CAN wires with the HW03-C adapter to turn the alarm off.
  • Another way — up to 2026: with the C package or higher, or a token, use the SW36 duplicator function to copy a key in armed mode. That gives a real working key with keyless and remote — then use that key to turn the alarm off. After 2020 this route needs a token.

Also makes keys — even with HW04-A or HW04-B

  • If you have HW04-A or HW04-B, the HW03-C adapter lets you do all-keys-lost and key copy on 2017 to 2024+ PEPS vehicles without any soldering.
  • Supply a new full working HW13 or HW14 Lock50 key — even with an active alarm on 2020+ models that need a copy of the key made before the alarm can be switched off.
  • Order the HW13 / HW14 keys and, even without the full HW04-C package, you can make keys with no RFA changes and turn the alarm off on 2024+ vehicles — on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Hardware, cars and years

  • Runs on HW04 with the HW03-C adapter — alarm-off works with any package; key making needs HW04-A, B or C.
  • Cars: Jaguar and Land Rover 2010 to 2020 via CAN wires with HW03-C; armed-mode key copy via SW36 up to 2026 (token after 2020).

Tokens — order here & how they pay for your keys

A token is a pay-as-you-go key-programming credit — one token programs one key. Buy the tokens you need, use them when you cut the keys, and only pay for the keys you actually program. Tokens copy keys even when the RFA / BCM modules are locked, straight onto Lock50 Change ID keys — no removing or opening modules, no soldering, and it works even with the alarm on.

How a token pays for your Change ID keys

  1. Buy any token — you get points worth the same amount added to your account automatically (spend £100 on tokens, get £100 in points).
  2. Use those points to order your Change ID keys — the points come straight off the key price at the checkout.
  3. The same points also come off any HW04 tool upgrade at the checkout, or can go towards an HW04 Lifetime option — the money you spend on tokens is never lost.
  4. Check your balance and how it is applied on the points page.

What SW34 does

  • Makes a copy of your HW05 / HW06 PCF7953 keys over OBD — even when the KVM is locked.
  • Everyone else has to get into the KVM to make OEM keys — SW34 does it faster, over OBD, with no module work.

The cable you need

  • Requires the HW03-D OBD cable. It is included with the tool kits and can also be ordered on its own.
  • The HW03-D cable is free in every new kit supplied since 10 September 2024.

SW35 Lock50 HW04 OBD Tool 2017 to 2020 NCF29A1 Key Duplicator When RFA is Locked Included with your HW04 package
SW35 Lock50 HW04 OBD Tool 2017 to 2020 NCF29A1 Key Duplicator When RFA is Locked

What SW35 does

  • Makes a copy of the keys already in the RFA — it does not add or remove keys.
  • Supply HW13 or HW14 Lock50 keys and the copy is written over OBD.
  • It is a fast temporary key to move the car — make the full key later once the RFA can be accessed.

What the copied key can do

  • If the RFA is a non-PEPS type — part number starting K8D2-19H440-AB / AC — you can make a fully working key.
  • If the RFA is a UWB PEPS type and locked, the copied key gives only emergency start and RF open / close — no keyless.
  • Full keyless on a PEPS UWB car is only done by the SW36 advanced duplicator in HW04-C.

Best practice — read the customer key first

  1. Read the client key on the Lock50 tool first.
  2. If it reads as a PS fob: you can make a fully working key with keyless over OBD.
  3. If it reads as a UWB PEPS fob: keyless works only after a 1-click UWB OFF, which needs an unlocked RFA. With the RFA locked there is no keyless — only emergency start and remote RF.

Hardware, cars and years

  • Runs on HW04 (A, B or C) over OBD with HW13 / HW14 keys.
  • Cars: Jaguar and Land Rover 2017 to 2020 using NCF29A1 keys.

SW36 Key Duplicator RFA When Locked 2017 - 2025 Included with your HW04 package
SW36 Key Duplicator RFA When Locked 2017 - 2025

What SW36 does

  • Bypasses a locked RFA and locked BCM without replacing any modules, using HW04-C with the HW03-C adapter.
  • The Key Copy / Duplicator clones the data from the locked modules onto a Lock50 Change ID key — the car then thinks the new key is an original.
  • The HW03-C adapter connects directly to the RFA (KVM) wiring, reads the existing key data and copies it onto an HW13 (433 MHz) or HW14 (315 MHz) Change ID key.
  • You get a full working key — emergency start, remote and keyless — even when the RFA and BCM are locked.

When to use it

  • Use it when you do not want to swap the RFA or BCM — the BCM may be locked by JLR mitigation updates.
  • Works even in the alarm / armed state.
  • Can also add OEM keys on a locked RFA and BCM.
  • A 5-minute job — no downgrading, no risk.

SW38 Lock50 HW04 Allows Downgrade RFA Module Software OBD when its High Included with your HW04 package
SW38 Lock50 HW04 Allows Downgrade RFA Module Software OBD when its High

What SW38 does

  • When you fit a new RFA with higher software than the current GWM and BCM support, it is safer to downgrade the RFA than to upgrade the BCM (and GWM) first just to add keys.

How to do it

  1. Go to Special Functions → RFA Downgrade.
  2. Go back to the RFA in the module list — it now updates fine and accepts keys.
  3. After adding the keys you can upgrade the GWM, BCM and RFA to the highest software, or leave them on the older levels.

  • Runs on HW04-B or HW04-C over OBD.

SW40 Unlock EVA2 RFA with L8B2 M8E2 and R8E2 Bcm types found in cars 2021 + Included with your HW04 package
SW40 Unlock EVA2 RFA with L8B2 M8E2 and R8E2 Bcm types found in cars 2021 +

What SW40 does

  • Unlocks a locked RFA module in EVA2 systems with L8B2, M8E2 and R8E2 BCM types, found in cars 2021 and newer.
  • After unlocking, all standard functions become available — firmware update, adding / removing keys and replacing the RFA.
  • For most vehicles the function does not always need a key and supports all-keys-lost situations when the car is not armed.

How to connect

  • Connect with the HW03-E cable and the internal CAN using the HW03-B or HW03-C adapter.
  • Unlocking the RFA over OBD requires 2 working keys. With 1 or no keys an extra CAN-wires connection is needed.
  • Use the HW03-B for a direct CAN2 connection in the door modules, or the HW03-C with the F1 and M1 adapters to unlock the RFA without locating CAN2 by hand.

After unlocking

  • You can erase the keys and add new ones, or just add new keys without erasing the old ones.

Hardware, cars and years

  • Runs on HW04-C with the HW03-E cable and the HW03-B / HW03-C adapter.
  • Cars: Jaguar and Land Rover 2021+ EVA2 with L8B2 / M8E2 / R8E2 BCM.

Software updates and fixes are included in the Renewal Licence for your device.

Renew within 1 month of expiry and there is no extra cost. After 1 month there is an extra cost.

Why the HW04-A Lifetime Licence works out better than this 12 Month renewal

Your device stops working when the licence runs out, so a 12 Month renewal has to be bought again and again. The Lifetime Licence is paid once and never expires.

  • The Lifetime Licence costs the same as 3 yearly renewals (3 × £500 = £1,500). From year 4 onwards you pay nothing.
  • Over 6 years the 12 Month route costs £3,000 and the 24 Month route £2,700, against £1,500 once for Lifetime.
  • No expiry date to watch and no device downtime. Renewing late costs extra; a Lifetime Licence can never be late.
  • Upgrade credit: Lifetime buyers can put the full £1,500 they paid towards one device tier upgrade within 12 months of purchase. 12 and 24 Month renewals earn no upgrade credit.

Use your Lifetime Licence as credit towards a device upgrade

Because you invested in the HW04-A Lifetime Licence, the full £1,500 you paid for it can be put towards moving your device up to a higher tier. We take the full amount you paid off the tier upgrade price.

How it works

  • Lifetime Licence buyers only. Standard 12-month and 24-month renewals are yearly running costs and do not build up any credit towards an upgrade.
  • The credit is the full amount you paid for this Lifetime Licence, applied to one device tier upgrade.
  • It must be used within 12 months of buying your Lifetime Licence.
  • If you upgrade to HW04-B or HW04-C, the Lifetime cover does not carry over — that tier then runs on its standard 12-month renewal (HW04-B £750 a year, HW04-C £1,000 a year).
  • If you upgrade to HW04-C+, you keep Lifetime cover — HW04-C+ already includes Lifetime, so there is no yearly renewal to pay.

CCF Editing, Credits & How It Works

What is CCF editing?

The CCF (Car Configuration File) is the central settings file the car reads at start-up. Editing it turns factory features on or off and changes how the vehicle behaves — lighting, comfort, display, drivetrain, security and more. Lock50 edits the CCF over OBD, no module removal needed.

I have package B, C or C+ — how do I edit the CCF myself?

Packages B, C and C+ include the built-in CCF Editor (SW24 / SW25 / SW26). You get 200+ ready-made options and mods for free inside the tool — select the vehicle, pick the feature, and write it back over OBD in a few clicks. No points needed, use it as often as you like.

Open the CCF Editor module (SW24) »

I have less than package B (PAYG or A) — can I still get CCF edits?

Yes. If you are below package B you cannot run the CCF Editor yourself, but you can order remote CCF editing with your points / credits. Send us the vehicle and the change you want — we edit the CCF for you over OBD and send it back. Every point you spend this way helps you grow faster up to HW04-C+, where all 200+ CCF options become free.

How do points / credits work?

Points (credits) let you order jobs without owning the full package — remote CCF edits, RFA / M9R3 module orders and more. They are the fast route to getting work done now while you build up toward HW04-C+, the lifetime tier that unlocks everything (200+ CCF options, new-RFA programming, all modules) with no tokens.
