WiFi Hotspot enable for Jaguar & Land Rover — switch on the vehicle's built-in WiFi hotspot so passengers can connect their devices to the in-car internet. Set in software via the CCF and coded to your VIN / As-Built over OBD, remote & mobile. Requires the hotspot-capable telematics unit and a data plan.
| Dropdown option | What it means |
|---|---|
| Not Supported | The parameter is not supported on this vehicle / platform. Do not select. |
| Internal WiFi Hotspot not fitted | No hotspot-capable telematics hardware — the feature stays off. |
| Internal WiFi Hotspot fitted | Enables the in-car WiFi hotspot. Choose this when the hotspot-capable telematics unit is fitted. |
| Error | Factory place-holder value — not a real choice, do not select. |
The dropdown above maps to these values in the Car Configuration File:
| CCF address | Parameter | Block | Byte | Bits | Values (from the CCF data set) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0x7531 | IVIWiFiHotspot | 0x75 | 3 | 1–0 | 01 = internal WiFi hotspot not fitted, 02 = internal WiFi hotspot fitted. |
The in-car WiFi hotspot runs on the Telematics Control Unit with its SIM and WiFi antenna. Where the TCU is a WiFi-capable unit but the hotspot was never enabled we switch it on; a data plan with the network provider is still needed. Software cannot add a WiFi radio to a TCU that has none — we check your As-Built first.
Earliest model year the option existed on each line:
| Model | Platform | Model years | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Range Rover / Range Rover Sport | L405 / L494 | 2017–2022 | InControl WiFi hotspot on the InControl Touch Pro cars. |
| Range Rover Evoque / Discovery Sport / Discovery / Velar | L538 / L550 / L462 / L560 | 2017–2026 | WiFi hotspot on InControl Touch Pro and Pivi Pro cars. |
| Defender / Range Rover / Range Rover Sport | L663 / L460 / L461 | 2020–2026 | Pivi Pro WiFi hotspot across the range. |
Earliest model year the hotspot existed on each line; it needs a WiFi-capable TCU fitted. We confirm by VIN.
Depending on model year and architecture, the WiFi Hotspot is enabled by one of two methods. We pick the correct one for your VIN — you do not need to know which in advance.
Either route is performed over the OBD diagnostic port, remote and mobile, with no bench work and no parts. The change is reversible the same way.
