A compact, UK-made interface for professional Jaguar Land Rover diagnostics. HW91 connects your Windows workshop laptop to the vehicle through its OBD diagnostic socket, providing the communication link for JLR SDD, Pathfinder and TOPIx Cloud / Device Agent workflows. Manufactured by Diagnostic Associates, the DA-DoIP VCI supports D-PDU and J2534 PassThru operation in the appropriate JLR application.

Choose HW91 when you want an updateable, wired JLR interface in a pocket-sized format. It is a vehicle communication interface, not a standalone scanner: the diagnostic application provides the tests, guided procedures and programming functions available for the connected vehicle and your authorised access.

Vehicle and software compatibility

For supported Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles from 2010 onwards, using the diagnostic application appropriate to the vehicle. Coverage depends on its communication protocol, model, module and the software in use; a model year alone does not establish support for every operation.

The manufacturer confirms compatibility with SDD, Pathfinder and TOPIx Cloud and notes that the MY25/26 Secure Diagnostics implementation does not change this device's PassThru role. Required JLR accounts, subscriptions and security permissions still apply. HW91 does not bypass vehicle security or include unrestricted access to protected functions.

Protocol limits: DA-DoIP supports DoIP, CAN and MultiCAN. It does not support ISO9141, J1850 PWM or FEPS programming voltages. This is not a Wi-Fi interface.

What you need

A compatible Windows laptop, current Diagnostic Associates drivers and device firmware, and the relevant JLR diagnostic software with an active subscription where required. DA App Hub registration and updates require Windows; the manufacturer does not support DA App Hub on Apple macOS. For programming, use suitable vehicle battery support and follow the application's power and connection requirements.

Software subscriptions, laptop and battery support equipment are not included. Purchasing the interface does not itself purchase a diagnostic session, coding activation or programming service.

Setup and updates

1. Install the current Diagnostic Associates drivers and DA App Hub on the Windows laptop. Register and update the device as directed by the manufacturer.
2. Connect HW91 to the vehicle's OBD diagnostic socket, then connect the supplied USB cable to the laptop.
3. Open the correct JLR diagnostic application and select the DA interface using the application's prescribed D-PDU or PassThru configuration.
4. Confirm communication before starting a diagnostic or programming procedure. Keep the device connected and maintain vehicle power throughout any update or programming operation.

Use Diagnostic Associates software for HW91, not Bosch VCI Manager. Before troubleshooting, check both the device firmware and PC driver versions. Current firmware addresses gateway-programming issues identified by the manufacturer.
