What SW40 does

Unlocks a locked RFA module in EVA2 systems with L8B2, M8E2 and R8E2 BCM types, found in cars 2021 and newer.
After unlocking, all standard functions become available — firmware update, adding / removing keys and replacing the RFA.
For most vehicles the function does not always need a key and supports all-keys-lost situations when the car is not armed.

How to connect

Connect with the HW03-E cable and the internal CAN using the HW03-B or HW03-C adapter.
Unlocking the RFA over OBD requires 2 working keys. With 1 or no keys an extra CAN-wires connection is needed.
Use the HW03-B for a direct CAN2 connection in the door modules, or the HW03-C with the F1 and M1 adapters to unlock the RFA without locating CAN2 by hand.

After unlocking

You can erase the keys and add new ones, or just add new keys without erasing the old ones.

Important. SW40 does not unlock the BCM. To replace the RFA with a locked BCM, use the “Replace RFA with locked BCM” special function — see SW28. It works on a fully functional vehicle with the original configuration, with no replaced control units or previous unauthorised work (the engine should start if working keys are present).

Runs on HW04-C with the HW03-E cable and the HW03-B / HW03-C adapter.
Cars: Jaguar and Land Rover 2021+ EVA2 with L8B2 / M8E2 / R8E2 BCM.

Who can use SW40 - package gating

HW04-C+ - SW40 is built in. Unlimited use, no token (HW04-C+ kit).
HW04-C - not included. Two ways: buy a per-job SW40 token (£300 + VAT per RFA unlock), or upgrade HW04-C to HW04-C+ (£6,000 + VAT, £7,200 inc. VAT) for unlimited use.
Pay As You Use, HW04-A and HW04-B - SW40 is NOT available and tokens cannot be bought on these tiers. You must be on HW04-C (token) or HW04-C+ (included). Upgrade first: PAYG to C, A to C, B to C, or straight to C+ (PAYG, A, B).
