Lock50 SW21 — VIN programming over OBD — SDD vehicles 2010–2017 (new or used parts)
Fit new OR used breaker parts and adapt them to the car — write the VIN over OBD so the module matches the vehicle it is fitted to • JLR SDD 2010–2017 • VIN writing only, no module flashing

What SW21 does
- On SDD-era JLR (2010–2017) it writes the VIN to a module over OBD so the module adapts to and matches the settings of the car it is fitted to.
- Source used parts from breakers and reuse them in the car by re-writing the VIN — instead of buying new.
- You can also write the VIN to new parts you have purchased.
- On most modules the VIN can be written again over OBD.
SW21 is VIN writing only. It does not flash (software-update) modules. Basic VIN writing on SDD modules is supported across all HW04 packages (HW04-A, B, C, and C+).
VIN-change exceptions. On some modules the VIN cannot be changed over OBD once it is already written — ABS, TCU, TCM and KVM (when locked) and a few others. Those modules can still be adapted into the car and will work; the VIN just cannot be re-written if one is already stored.
Backup / dealer tools
- As a backup it is good to own a JLR VCI cable.
- Lock50 optionally set up the SDD dealer tools for you, to help solve issues in cars that the Lock50 HW04 OBD tools cannot fix on their own.
