The HW03-A is a solder-free bench adapter for reading the SPC560B60L3 MCU when the RFA is unlocked. It seats the RFA board and connects to the HW53 programmer to extract the DFLASH from all unlocked Land Rover / Jaguar KVM (RFA) IMMO boxes, 2017 to now — any model with the SPC560B60L3 MCU, with no soldering and no pin damage. That is all it does: seat the unlocked RFA, connect to the HW53, read the DFLASH. The extracted file can then be emulated onto a Lock50 key for emergency start with the alarm off, or used for remote open with HW14 keys.

| Use | What the HW03-A does |
|---|---|
| 1. Read an unlocked RFA | Seat the unlocked RFA board on the clip, connect the HW53 and read the SPC560B60L3 DFLASH — all JLR RFA 2017 to now. |
| 2. Load virgin files after an MCU swap | When the RFA is locked, replace the SPC560B60L3 with a virgin chip, then use the same clip to load the virgin files onto the new MCU — still no soldering. |
| Step | What you do |
|---|---|
| 1 | Remove the RFA from the vehicle and open the housing. |
| 2 | Seat the RFA board on the HW03-A adapter — no soldering. |
| 3 | Read the unlocked SPC560B60L3 MCU DFLASH with the HW53 programmer. |
| 4 | Emulate the RFA from the dump with the matching SW function — SW04 (JPLA), SW05 (K8D2), SW07 (M9R3) or SW06 (Jaguar J9C3) — on the HW01 tool or the HW04 Tools. |
| 5 | Make a key from the dump — copy the dump onto a Lock50 change-ID emulator key, HW13 (433 MHz) or HW14 (315 MHz), to add keys. This key gives emergency start and remote straight away, and can arm / disarm (alarm off) the car. |
| 6 | If the RFA had UWB enabled, the dump key will not do keyless yet. Use HW04 over OBD to turn UWB off in 1 click. |
| 7 | With UWB off, the same key made from the dump now works keyless too — full remote, keyless and arm/disarm from the one dump-made key. Bench-copied remote / RF / emergency start covers models up to 2020; later models are synchronised in the car. |

| Tool | Why you need it |
|---|---|
| HW53 | Bench programmer that performs the solder-free read of the unlocked SPC560B60L3 RFA MCU through the HW03-A. |
| HW01 | Chip tool that emulates the extracted DFLASH file onto a Lock50 key. The HW04 (A to C+) tools can do this as well — emulate the dump and make the key. |
| HW13 / HW14 | Lock50 emulator keys the dump is copied onto to add keys — HW13 (433 MHz) and HW14 (315 MHz). The made key gives remote, emergency start and arm/disarm; keyless too once UWB is turned off. |
| HW04 (A to C+) | All Lock50 HW04 OBD tools, A to C+, can add and remove keys and turn UWB off in 1 click over OBD. |
Load the RFA module MCU DFLASH you read with the matching function to emulate the RFA and make a key from the dump — RFA module only, never the KVM. All run on the HW01 / HW04 tools. Click any function to open its page in a new tab.
| Function | What it does |
|---|---|
| SW01 | Read the key first — part, frequency, position, locked status and rewrites left. |
| SW04 | Load the JPLA-19H440 RFA MCU (SPC560B60L3) DFLASH dump — emergency-start emulation. |
| SW05 | Load the K8D2-19H440 RFA MCU (SPC560B60L3) DFLASH dump. |
| SW07 | Load the M9R3-19H440 RFA MCU (SPC560B60L3) DFLASH dump. |
| SW06 | Load the Jaguar J9C3-19H440 RFA MCU (SPC560B60L3) DFLASH dump. |
You do not always need the RFA. If you already have an unlocked working key, you can do a key-to-key copy straight onto a Lock50 HW13 or HW14 change-ID key with the HW01 tool or the HW04 (A to C+) tools — read the unlocked key with SW01 and copy it across to add keys, no bench read of the RFA required.
Need a virgin chip for the MCU swap on a locked RFA? We sell the HW52 SPC560B60L3 blank MCU — solder it in, then load the virgin files with the same HW03-A clip. Click the chip to open the product page.

If the RFA is damaged or you need a brand-new one, we supply new virgin JLR RFA (KVM) PEPS modules ready to program. Pick the module that matches the part you are replacing — click any to open its product page in a new tab.
