What SW02 does

  • Reads the NCF29A transponder (NCF29A1, NCF29A4V, NCF29AFV) inside a Jaguar / Land Rover key and shows everything you need in one screen.
  • Part / model — PSFOB (without UWB) or PEPSFOB (with UWB). This is the one fact that decides which replacement key the car takes: a PEPSFOB (with UWB) car needs a PEPSFOB (with UWB) key for full keyless; a PSFOB car takes a PSFOB key.
  • Frequency — 433 MHz or 315 MHz; odd Lock50 key numbers are 433 MHz, even numbers are 315 MHz.
  • Key position — the slot the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) or late KVM learned the key into.
  • Locked status — locked = already learned to a car; unlocked = new and ready to be programmed as new or added through the RFA dump.
  • PEPS / UWB status — whether the key carries the UWB (ultra-wideband) part used for walk-away lock and door-handle keyless entry on 2017–2026 cars.

How it works

  1. Place the key on the antenna of HW04 or HW01.
  2. Open SW02 – Read key NCF29A in the Lock50 JLR Key Tool and press Read.
  3. The tool reads the NCF29A over 125 kHz and shows part / model, frequency, position, locked status and PEPS / UWB status.
  4. Match the result to the table below.

Key facts

  • Read only — SW02 never writes to the key and never touches the car.
  • SW02 reads the key; SW20 reads the car (RFA locked / unlocked, UWB enabled). Read both before a 2017–2026 job and you know the exact key and route before you start.
  • Any NCF29A key can be checked — the client’s key, a used key from stock or a key you are about to sell.
